The Renegades behind Maverick Hills

Our quest to create a deeper personal connection with food began 8 years ago with Renegade Tea Estate - a thorny jungle of abandoned old Soviet era tea plantations in Georgia. Fast forward to today, and we’ve got this buzzing organic tea farm with teas that win awards. The story of Renegade Tea Estate is not the one of centuries old secret recipes and mystical skills passed from generation to generation. It is the story of full transparency, constant exploration and loyal community that sources their tea from our farm year after year.

Now, our team is ready to start the next chapter with Olival Maverick Hills.

Picture this:

Neglected traditional olive groves in Portugal, waiting for some love and care. We're about to seal the deal on our first spot in the Douro Valley, up in Northern Portugal.

Our game plan?

Transform these forgotten groves into vibrant wildlife havens where olive trees thrive in their natural habitat in harmony with other flora and fauna.

What's Olival Maverick Hills about?

It's basically Renegade Tea Estate's rebellious cousin, sticking to our values with full transparency, organic farming, and top-notch quality (read our quality promise). We're not stopping at just being organic certified, we’re on a mission to turn our groves into lush, biodiverse agroforests where the health of the ecosystem is the priority.

Our vision for the farm is to be community-driven, sustainable and nature-friendly. We believe that's the only way to make a real, long-lasting impact for Mother Nature, the local crew, and, you, the people who actually consume the oil!

How does it work?

Your oil, not ours

Forget us trying to sell our oil to you. We're all about making you part of the tribe. You can get your very own olive trees at Olival Maverick Hills. Sign up for one season or go all in and rent them for life. Either way, we'll take good care of your trees and send the harvest to you each year.

How many trees do I need?

Well, that depends on how much oil you go through. Roughly, we estimate that each tree gives about 1.5 liters of extra virgin olive oil in an average year. Of course, that is just an estimate, as Mother Nature likes to keep surprising us from time to time.

How much do I pay for a tree?

You can rent your own olive tree for €45 a year, shipping included if you’re in the EU.

Or you can have your tree for life for €350 and you pay 19,5€/per tree every year for harvesting and shipping costs.

Oh, and a bonus: you become a shareholder of Olival Maverick Hills as well. You can read more about the shareholder model here.

When can I join?

Ready to become a Maverick? We're gearing up to have 7000 olive trees, but we'll start with the first 250 in our debut grove. There isn't a fixed date yet, but leave us your email, and we'll let you know when it's go-time!
